It’s located on Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands! Four of us enjoyed a beautiful sunset tour where we saw seals, a porpoise, cormorants, and other sea birds. The gorgeous sunset was the icing on the cake to a wonderful excursion. Ben was extremely patient with all of us, especially
our friends, who had never sea kayaked before. We highly recommend Sea Quest if you are visiting Friday Harbor.

Great evening kayak experience! Had a great experience with Davis and Giovanni doing an evening kayak tour. They geared us up and took care of launching the kayaks and we were on our way, pickup was easy at Friday Harbor. We saw seals and spent time just observing them. They were also patient with the kids and informative on the marine environment. Would do again!!

Night tour Jeo and Henry were amazing guides for the bioluminescence night tour. My daughter and I had a great time and we would recommend this adventure.

Family fun and lots of laughs This was not something I had planned on doing originally. It was a last minute add on to our trip of the San Juan islands. I’d brought my roommate over from Kentucky to visit my family. My parents had booked the four of us a cabin in Friday harbor to go whale watching. This was my roommates first time out West, and we wanted to do something fun. Fun, is exactly what we got. Thanks to Henry and Hunter (Fabio?), we were able to not only explore the bright underwater life, but gain some knowledge AND practice our singing (it happened to be Henry’s birthday). We had so much fun on this adventure, and if we were to do it again, there’s nothing I would change. (Except, maybe my partner, but I’m related to him, so I’m kind of stuck lol). Thank you both Henry and Hunter, we cannot tell you how much that trip meant to us.

Amazing way to see the San Juans Kayaking in the San Juan islands has been on my bucket list for ages, and this trip completely completely fulfilled my desire! My friend and I took a long weekend (from Utah) up to the San Juans, and did a 2 day/1 night all-women's trip. The guide was very knowledgeable, and probably the best part was having someone cook us a hot dinner and hot breakfast (and coffee) at camp! So luxurious! We camped on Jones island and snagged a beautiful spot that had 360 views. Paddling was about 6-7 miles each day. Leisurely pace, but definitely be prepared to be sore if you don't kayak often. I stand up paddle board a lot, but this was a bit different! 11/10 amazing experience.

Great Paddle with a Great Guide (Heather) We went during the shoulder season, so it was kind of cold, without a lot of wildlife (no whales). But the guide (Heather) was excellent, the scenery was beautiful. We stopped on Turn Island and had an amazing hike, I strongly recommend taking the path around the island, it's lovely.

Tick this off your bucket list We were lucky enough to enjoy a bucket list trip to San Juan Island to go on the Bioluminescence night kayaking trip with Sea Quest. The experience was excellent from start to finish, we all felt safe even though we were not all experienced at kayaking. The bioluminescence was simply breathtaking and our guide Jeff was very helpful, knowledgeable and good company. We would definitely recommend.

Birding with Mark We did a guided birding tour with Mark Lewis and he was fantastic!! He brought us to four or five different locations around San Juan islands and filled us in on the history and geography and flora and science of everything around us!!

Wonderful bucket list experience Our guide, Jeff, was knowledgeable, kind, and professional. Tour included inexperienced kayakers and Jeff was awesome getting us set up and out in the water. Got to see bioluminescent phytoplankton! Incredible to see, and having an excellent experienced guide made all the difference. Highly recommended

Great experience all around Took a day trip with my wife and sister in August 2024. Everything was great with all interactions with the company and even the water was perfect and calm. I will gladly work with this company again.

The perfect bioluminescence kayaking experience! The bioluminescence tour was AMAZING! Heather and Marco were the perfect guides for a group with diverse abilities going out into the night. They were patient and encouraging. The bioluminescence in the water was indescribably beautiful and magical. Every paddle action created a scene of sparkling diamonds in the water! The occasional jellyfish outlined in “lights” was a delight. Don’t miss this experience!

Epic girls trip with Heather Our group of 8 women had an epic adventure with our amazing guide Heather! From the BEST campsite with sunset views from our tent, to the expert navigation across the San Juan channels, to her fun hospitality. We’d pick Sea-Quest tours and Heather 1000 times!!

Bioluminescence Tour with Ben We did the bioluminescence tour with Ben and he was great! He had a lot of knowledge and was able to explain exactly what we were seeing and just made the whole trip fun:-) Thank you, Ben!

Our Three-day kayaking/camping trip thru the San Juans with the "Whale Whisperer!" My friend and I went on the three-day/two-night kayak trip through some of the San Juan Islands this past July 9-11, 2014. We had great weather and an excellent guide Caleb, and his able assistant Paige. Caleb, at the ripe old age of 23 is mature, experienced and so knowledgeable beyond his age.
He is living his passion and it was an inspiration to listen, learn and experience all that he has to offer. His knowledge of kayaking, camping, and his love of the San Juan Islands was so apparent to us. His level of species identification in both flora and fauna is impeccable. His appreciation and depth of knowledge on the ocean environment and sustainability was endless. We felt safe with his directions in the water and had a great time camping. He and Paige were great hosts.
One tip would be to not pack too much at this time of the year. One water resistant top for the campground will do. Booties are advisable. Rocks under your feet and toes getting in and out are not very comfortable and limits your ability to move your boat, etc. Sunscreen for sure and lightweight wool socks are GREAT! Sandals for the campground are fine. Binoculars are definitely a plus, unless you have 20/15 eyesight like Caleb. Ha!
He is also something of a "Whale Whisperer" as we called him. His pinpoint sense of where whales, dolphins and other sea life may be was always right on. On our second day we were lucky enough to see a transient pod/family trolling the waters in the late morning. In the evening, we camped on Turn Island and I truly believe it was because Caleb had an idea that the same pod might be headed in that direction.
After dinner, the same pod was seen coming toward the island and a strait where they were hunting seals. To ultimately see nature in a purest sense taking place from the island and anywhere from 100- 1000 feet away was amazing. The breaching, dorsal fins, herding mannerisms of the whales was riveting. It can't happen like that on every trip, but being with Caleb you knew it wasn't because he wasn't trying.
Even if we hadn't been so lucky to see the whales, the kayaking was blissful and it was just astounding that Caleb had an answer for virtually every question we had. Toward the end, we joked while paddling through a few afternoon choppy seas "We must be able to come up with a question!" "What doesn't he know?" And then, we just laughed.
It was a perfect trip! I would recommend the three-day kayaking trip to anyone with reasonable kayaking skills. And being that we were in tandems, that makes the trip that much more enjoyable.
